Description
The Burgonet or Sturmhaube (german) is the further development of the armet. Burgonets could have been made with the visor and worn by cavalry. Such helmets with visor were worn by the famous Ironsides of Cromwell.
The visor is removable and consists of 4 details. Upper grade could be extended or lowered for better protection, while the visor is closed. At the back part there is a plumage.
The helmet is fixed on the chin with authentic ties, not with the straps and buckle as usual.
This particular Sturmhaube was based on the development of our client Andreas Schmidt from Germany. Two of the helmets were the examples (images below). The visor is from the Karl V Strumhaube, which is located in museum in Vienna.
If there’s a wish, the helmet can be used in the fights with spotrs direction, but we wouldn’t advise it. Eventually, every helmet could be broken and the complicated visor locking system is fairly hard to repair. There are some more fitting helmets for sports. But regarding the beauty of this helmet is can be used in fantasy events, such as WarHammer imperials.
