Gauntlets for reenactment.
Gauntlets for reenactment.
Description
This pair was made around 2009 for the team “Salisbury”, Kyiv. Basically, these are the composite character of the gauntlets of the time using artifacts and images of the medieval infantry. These gauntlets are good for everyday tasks in the military campaigns: fasten your clothes, cook food, strain a crossbow, write with a quill, count your coins and so on. Surely, they protect from cuts and hits. However, in spite of their usability in the medieval, they cannot be used in sports. In the modern realia, the blows to the armor are much stronger and it is easy to have your fingers broken. Which is why it is better to stay away from hits and take these gauntlets to the living-history events.
