Description
Gauntlet “Tristan” is a historical stylization developed on the basis of the separately existing elements of the medieval gauntlets. Provides whole movement range needed for the hit and maximum protection from all sides.
While developing these gauntlets we based on the wrist outline of the hourglass gauntlets which were quite widespread among knights in the 14th century. The cuff is not one piece, it consists from the two parts: it is less expensive and provides additional movement. Finger protection is constructed in a way that the most often hit spots are strengthened with the stiffness ribs. This spots are knuckles. With the knuckles you cal also hit an opponent, and the gauntlet would withstand it.
Pay attention to the thumb protection. In its essence it is a solid metal cap which will firmly protect you from hits.
Developing a stylization of the medieval gauntlet we used the details of the different mittens that could be found in Europe of 14th- beginning of the 16th century. Shape and geometry of separate elements could be produced with the technology of that period of time. Gauntlet “Tristan” has nice design, excellent overall protection for one-handed and two-handed weapon and great range of movements for hits in tournaments and buhurt.
