Cuisses ‘”Tristan” are based on the cuisses from Churburg and some others. Their main function is to protect thighs and most importantly knee. This is the weak spot for a lot of fighters, especially when heavy weights are involved. Also we have developed whole thigh which protects three quarters of the girth. This way we made them less expensive than Churburg ones, which have a loop.

Description
Cuisse “Tristan” is optimaly protecting medieval stylization. All elements are based on separately existing historical artefacts. Cuisses “Tristan” can withstand straight hits with halberd, punches in the knee by the leg. Moreover, you can even hit with them. Pay attention that tied up knee won’t provide necessary protection under the rondel, that is why we based our protection on the plate cuisses, not on thigh and knee separately.
Before the chausses appeared in Europe in the 13th cent gamboised cuisses were used, which protected thighs of the cavalry from hits. After appearing of more advanced leg protection in the first half of the 14th cent thigh protection was made first brigand and then plate. Plate cuisses existed from 14th till 16th cent, when plate skirt and chausses were attached to one another.
