Description
Such protection is good for newbies for training and for tournaments, where such protection is allowed. This element of the armor is completely unhistorical and is not for reenactments, but it is most solid and inexpensive protection for sports. Another disadvantage is that you can’t change hands which makes it hard to use two-handed weapon and polearms. On the tournaments with longswords you can notice closed fists on some fighters, and the handle of the one-handed weapon is easier to grip due to the closed construction.
Anatomic shape is the same as the human wrist. Cuff and long cutouts allow to move weapon easily.
