Description
Armet “Alamercer” is based on the medieval artifact but was changed to fir the client’s measurements. The helmet cannot be removed from the head when the side details are closed, so the chin strap is not needed. The helmet could be used in sports as well, but only with the light weapon. The two-handed weapon can easily damage such an elaborate helmet. Also, the fitted-to the-neck shape of the helmet can have a negative impact on the protective qualities against the hits. The variety of holes works great against stabbing hits. Which is why this helmet will do great in fights with an accent on historicity where the stabbing hits are allowed and the light weapon is used.
Armet – a type of helmets of 15th -16th century, with double visor and protection for the neck. In the helmet’s structure, the spherical skull had the solid back part and movable face and neck protection from the front and both sides on which the visor was lowered. Due to this construction, the helmet provided great protection in jousting as well as in foot fight but was quite expensive and affordable only to rich knights.
