Fantasy theme gave a significant push for hobbys in one way or another connected with fencing and armor developing. Of course we can not ingnore this direction. In general, if you want to collect the most realistic fantasy armor - we are at your service! Especially since our armor has a nice design and you can create the necessary image with it.

Part of our armor elements are also suitable for HEMA. But in the future we plan to develop mittens, elbows, knees, etc specially for this direction. Part of our armor elements are also suitable for HEMA. But in the future we plan to develop specially for this discipline mittens, elbows, knees, etc. This direction of fencing is based on medieval fencing books (training books) and special very flexible and light swords are used here.

In fighting stylization, we first of all provide protection and convenience. When developing such armor, we combine the existing elements and parts of the medieval armor existing separately, but in close regions and time frames.

In historical reconstruction, we try to maximally repeat the geometry of the example artifact. The difficulty is that often both the example and the artifact are located far from us. Therefore, such work requires considerable skill.

Arm harness “Churburg” is one of the most widespread types of arm protection in the medieval Europe.

Such configuration and assembly is often observed with minimal differences. Even more late versions of plate armor protection differ only by the elbow form.

_DSC6402While polishing, we leave small blisters from forging on purpose, as they can be found in museums as well. We make notching on the edges, as they had in the arm harness in Churburg, but it can lead to the cracks appearing. The elbow on the original is quite deep, that is why we make it with the help of  raising.

Pay attention that the straps on the bracers are coming out of the holes exactly like on the artefact. Rivets are made in the shape of a nail. They are spread from the outside as on the original and the flat top stays on the inside. The bracer can rotate thanks to the technical cuts. Straps are fixed on the inner part of the bracer and come out of holes. Steel buckles are made by hand. From the inside all of the segments are cut as on the original.

Loops on the bracers are handmade. Some workshops use factory accessories, but we believe  this is against reenactment principles.

In the process of creating plate arm harness Churburg we pay attention to the details. Edges and angles are worked up as on the original. We preserve proportion and curvature, way of assembly and geometry of the details. But besides its historical accuracy this type of arm harness has good protection from hits. You can use it with the one-handed or two-handed weapon, or even with tournament spear for jousting.  As any plate harness, arm harness Churburg provides special protection for the elbow joint. Usually we make sure that you can’t get your hand broken out while wearing our plate armor.

At the same time, some of the museum plate armor bend out, that potentially could lead to the elbow breaking. We believe that the armor should protect its owner. That is why it is pretty insufficient to make complicated plate connection and not provide protection from breaking out as well. But if you wish that we duplicate the original, we can do it. By the way, this type of arm protection does not bend out in museum.

Based on this type of arm protection we developed model Tristan,  it can be used for sport. Check them out, if sport is more important for you than reenactment.
